SoundSawt

Terms of Use

Last updated: 26 September 2026

These terms govern your use of SoundSawt. By using the site you accept them.

1. What SoundSawt is

SoundSawt is a free web tool to search for Islamic-context audio (Quran, nasheed, a cappella, duʿāʾ, adhan, lectures), watch it through the platform’s own player, and — if you have the right to — keep a personal copy as MP3 or MP4. It is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by YouTube, Google or any other platform.

SoundSawt is built for that purpose: audio in an Islamic context, without musical instruments. A link — searched for or pasted — that our automated check cannot place in that purpose may be shown for listening only, or converting it may be refused; see “What we process” below for what that check reads.

2. Your responsibility for what you convert

You may only convert or download content that you own, that is in the public domain, that is licensed to allow it (e.g. Creative Commons), that its rightsholder has authorised, or that the law of your country lets you copy for private use.

Platforms have their own terms (YouTube’s, for example, restrict downloading). Complying with them, and with copyright law, is your responsibility. Do not redistribute, sell or publicly perform what you convert without permission.

3. Acceptable use

  • No use that infringes the rights of creators or rightsholders, or that breaks the law.
  • No automated scraping of the service, no attempt to bypass limits (length, rate) or to overload it.
  • No attempt to access other people’s data or to disrupt the service.

We may limit or block access, and block specific content, to protect the service and rightsholders.

4. Files and availability

Converted files are temporary: they are deleted from our servers after a few minutes, or right after a download when downloading is available. For listening, the audio is copied into your browser and stays on your device. Saving files to your device is planned as part of a Pro plan (not yet available).

The service is provided "as is". It depends on third-party platforms and tools that can change without notice, so we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or that a given video can be converted.

5. Intellectual property

The SoundSawt name, logo, design and code belong to their author. Content you convert belongs to its rightsholders; using SoundSawt gives you no right over it.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, SoundSawt is not liable for indirect losses, for the content of third-party platforms, or for how you use the files you create. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

7. Changes, law, disputes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. If you have a complaint, write to us first. These terms are governed by French law, without affecting the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. Consumers in the EU may also use the online dispute resolution platform of the European Commission.
